Logo Design For Saint Aidan Parish

posted Aug 9, 2016, 11:57 AM by Saint Aidan

With our recent change a mailing address we will need to change our stationary and envelopes here at St. Aidan. Depictions of St. Aidan of Lindisfarne often depict him carrying a torch as a recognition of his work to bring the “Light of Christ” to the pagan Angles who had sailed from the Danish peninsula and invaded the northwestern coast of Britain (Northumbria). It was from the Angles that England takes its name. That is also the origin of the building campaign for our church that was headed with the phrase, “Passing the light of Faith.”

For our new stationary, I would like to add a logo of a torch in tribute to St. Aidan. Therefore, I am putting this out to the parish to see if there are any artists, illustrators or doodlers who would like to submit a design for our logo. You can find further information on St. Aidan on our website, and of course, in a computer search. Remember that our patron is St. Aidan of Lindisfarne. There is also a St. Aidan of Ferns, but his logo is a stag.

May the Olympics inspire you! You can submit your logo by mail or email to msgrplante@gmail.com.
